Cait's First Bday

Well, a lot has happened since we just checked in! Caitlyn turned one on Feb 23rd! She had a wonderful birthday with her family. She received losts of toys, dolls, clothes, hats and books! We are officially ready for Spring with all of her capri pants and tops. She is still only taking 3-4 steps at a time but she will be walking soon. She is 20 pounds and has more than tripled her birth weight (6lbs 13.5 oz). She can say hi, bye, cat, mama, dada and we think maybe doll but that might be a stretch. At the end of July we are taking her to Bermuda so we are shopping for a swimsuit! Soon, we had better start taking swim lessons!

Week in Review

Well, last week Caitlyn and I were really sick and so we stayed home and watched more than I could handle of the Lifetime Movie Channel. Sadly enough the movies were all from the 90s and I realized that my closet looked eerily similar to theirs! It is definitely time for a new wardrobe and makeover and I think Caitlyn and Jeff agree. While we were on our sick day Cait decided to climb into the cabinet and throw all of her glass jars on the ground at once.....fantastic! Once she was feeling better we took her to the mall to walk (yes we are old) since it was cold outside and as Jeff put on his hat she threw a huge hissy fit! She apparently did not like his choice of ski hats! We had Tom, Nicole and Chloe over for dinner and it was so nice getting together and letting the girls play. I think they are both going to be hard to keep up with in a few months. Now she is back to her old playful self and got so excited today that she fell and busted her lip....luckily she only realized she was in pain for about a second and went back to playing. This weekend her Grandpa is coming into town and she is going to spend SuperBowl Sunday with her Mamie! It is never too soon to get her into football!

The Walter Family

Well, Saturday night we had our good friends Darcy and Jason over for dinner. Anna is their almost 3 year old daughter and they have an adorable son Colin who is 6 weeks old. Anna has the vocabulary of a 7 year old and loved to play with "Baby Caitlyn." Colin is such a sweet baby who hardly made a noise all night. Hopefully we can all get together this summer to go to the zoo and of course margaritas after! There is nothing better than good friends, good wine and good food.

New Years Eve 2007

Happy 2008! Jeff and I spent last night at my sister in law and new brother in laws house last night. We had a great time and actually made it until midnight....shocking! We all had a champagne toast and loved hanging out with friends and family. Caitlyn spent the night with her Mamie and Jeff and I had a chance for a much needed oppotunity to sleep in!

Happy New Year!!!

Well it is very hard to believe that 2007 is over and 2008 is already here. I have been horrible about keeping up with the blog so here is a recap! Caitlyn was born in February 2007 at 6lbs, 13.5 oz. She saw her first snow in April during Easter when my friend Natalie came to visit. Jeff and I took her to visit her Grammy and Grandpa in June to San Antonio as her Papa and Mamie live here in Plano. July was a busy month as it was my 30th birthday and Caitlyn was baptized. My grandmother passed away in August at 87 years old but Caitlyn is very luck to still have a great-grandfather and great-grandmother. She is spoiled rotten by all of her aunts, uncles and grandparents. She got very sick in December and had tubes placed in her ears. Now she is a bundle of energy and we can hardly keep up. We are wishing everyone a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Isn't it sad that 11pm is a late night??

Ok, so I finally have committed to this blog thing. Caitlyn and I have a lot to share but miss out on a lot with our friends b/c I am at work and miss the mommy trips. So, I thought this would be a good way to reconnect and see what everyone is up to. I will have to post some pics soon as Caitlyn is getting so big and is learning so fast. We had a girls weekend over Labor Day and we swam and played the entire weekend. Will post more soon but as I said "11pm in now a late night!"
